Fitness Training
Golf and fitness are more than ever synonomous.
That's why the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy offers individualized golf fitness training plans to help students obtain their goals in golf faster and more completely.
The program employs flexibility, stability, functional movement, strength, speed, endurance, and 3-D integrative exercises. Each type of exercise is designed to improve a specific attribute that is identified during a student's assessment.
Students will participate in several different types of exercise circuits. The main objective of the fitness in golf is to increase your level of performance as well as prevent injury. It's always easier to prevent an injury than to rehabilitate from it. GGGA will develop specific and customized programs that develop the muscles allowing students to obtain a correct set up, maintain correct posture, perform the back swing, transition, downswing, and the follow through.
GGGA has a full staff of (4) fitness professionals to help our students reach their fitness goals. The GGGA fitness team not only works on golf-specific fitness in the fitness center but also on the range to ensure proper technique.
"To me, the biggest thing in golf is preparation, which is the set up. When the body is healthy, its aligned and its in balance, it's so much easier to set up to your putting, your chipping and your full swing. Having fitness for golf helps you produce the right movements and produce the right results." — Gary Gilchrist
