GGGA Student Anna Millet Takes First Win at FCWT Falcons Fire

GGGA student Anna Millet captured her first FCWT win at Falcons Fire Sunday while carding the low final round.
Millet, a student in the Full-Time Junior Program at the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy, posted a final round 73 to finish at 1-over 145 to edge fellow GGGA student Lina Sekerkova by one.
Millet, of Spain, trailed Sekerkova, of Slovakia, by one going into the final round. Sekerkova opened with a 1-under 71 that included a hole-in-one at the 140-yard par-3 third hole.
Following her first win as a GGGA student, Millet was all smiles. (see video)
“I trusted myself today,” said Millet. “I played how I practiced. and it worked out for me today.”
Over in the Boys Division, GGGA students Enrique Jaramillo and Gonzalo Rubio posted top 5 finishes.
Jaramillo, of Colombia, and Rubio, of Mexico, co-led after the first round with eventual winner Sean Smothers. Jaramillo went on to tie for second at 5-under 139 with rounds of 69 and 70, and Rubio finished fourth at 3-under 141 with rounds of 69 and 72.
